#hiringfriday 04.12.24 - tweaking the format edition
Happy #hiringfriday! It’s storytime this month.
#Hiringfriday started in October 2020 as a Linkedin post and spreadsheet. My stated motive was supporting the digital health community, and my ulterior motive was filling my hiring pipeline at Thirty Madison. I sent my first newsletter in February 2021, then took a break in 2022 during maternity leave. The pallet board launched in April 2023, and I experimented with office hours and other ways to add value and build community throughout 2023.
I’ve gotten various feedback over the years on how to adapt and grow #hiringfriday. Because it is a side hustle, I am continually trying to balance it with my other obligations (day job, family, pilates, etc). So, to be able to continue to do this, I am making a few changes around here:
#HiringFriday Linkedin posts will continue weekly. Pleas review the instructions on how to submit roles, or email me directly.
In order to keep #hiringfriday free to subscribers and to those companies with limited resources, I’m trying out an optional contribution to maintenance costs or to a healthcare charity for those companies who would like to contribute.
The newsletter will continue as well, but the format will change. I’ve moved the company list to my website, and will instead highlight specific roles (this was the most asked for change). Submission process for the newsletter is the same as Linkedin.
I am retiring the Pallet board, both due to lack of activity and because Pallet is sunsetting the feature. There are plenty of great focused boards out there, like Out-of-Pocket and Behavioral Health Tech, in addition to the big ones.
I will be experimenting with Twill to drive network referrals. If you’re hiring, or have a great network, check it out.
I am also sunsetting 1-1 office hours. Unfortunately, 1-1 interactions don’t scale. If you’re looking for more 1-1 support, In Women’s Health and Health Tech Nerds offer great communities for job seekers.
We’ll see how this goes - please feel free to reach out with questions, offer feedback, or propose other ideas. My goals continue to be to build community and hire for my portfolio - the operator in me just makes me want to do it in the most efficient way possible!
Other ideas or thoughts? Community resources? Let me know!
